Originally built in 1874, this mansion was first constructed as a plain two-story square brick home for Norris Bennett Bristol. In 1902, oil millionaire Albert P. McBride purchased the mansion and transformed it into a Romanesque-style residence, adding an eye-catching tower and luxurious features.nOver the years, the mansion underwent several changes, including being converted into apartments in 1949 to house workers from the nearby Independence Army Airfield during World War II.
