Home Values and Neighborhood Foreclosures

For homebuyers, getting accurate home values is a critical step in the home buying and selling process. Knowing housing prices in your neighborhood — or wherever you’re planning to buy — is critical information you need before you buy or sell. That’s why RealtyTrac has unveiled a new home valuation center called HomeValueTrac, which provides buyers with a free access to instant home values and home value trends nationwide, along with interactive maps of recent sales and active foreclosures in the neighborhood.

Getting property values is easy with HomeValueTrac. Users simply enter any address, city or zip code nationwide in the search box, and the estimated property value appears. If a specific address is entered, the median estimated value for the home will be displayed, along with the estimated change in value over the past month, property characteristics such as number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms and square footage, last sales date and price if available, and a graph showing historical home values for the property, zip code and city.

A "Neighborhood Foreclosures" tab displays neighborhood properties in some stage of foreclosure on a map and historical foreclosure activity for the zip code, city and county the property is in. Only RealtyTrac subscribers who are logged in will be able to see the exact addresses and complete information for the foreclosure properties.

A "Neighborhood Sales" tab displays recent sales in the neighborhood, including sales date and price, along with number of bedrooms and bathrooms if available.

If just a zip code or city is entered, an estimated median value for the zip code or city is given, along with graphs of historical home values in the zip, city and state.
