Stone Mountain is a city in DeKalb County, Georgia with a population of 7,145 and a median household income of $98,603. African Americans make up nearly 70 percent of the city’s population, making Stone Mountain one of the wealthiest majority-black areas in the United States.
The city is best known for its granite dome, Stone Mountain, the world’s largest exposed piece of granite and the third largest monolinth in the world.
