The Neighborhoods That Produce Presidents

In honor of President’s Day, RealtyTrac analyzed the neighborhood data behind the most recent president’s childhood home to see how their childhood homes stack up against each other.  We looked at various neighborhood facts including local crime, unemployment, environmental hazards, median sales price, local schools and homes in the area with negative equity. What we found was each president’s childhood home is diverse from former President Clinton’s humble beginnings in Hope, Arkansas, where the local crime grade is a D+, to President Obama’s childhood home in a more affluent neighborhood in Hawaii, where local school ratings are an A+, to former President Bush’s childhood home in Midland, Texas, where local school scores are rated a D+.

Finally, we looked at the neighborhood surrounding the White House and found some interesting stats surrounding the famed address and the home of the current President.  Did you know there are 653 environmental hazards within two miles of the White House? Find out more below.
