Presentation: U.S. Treasury Short Sale Workshop

The U.S. Treasury Department, in partnership with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, regularly hosts short sale events for both agents working the short sale market and homeowners trying to secure a short sale or other foreclosure alternative.

The most recent event was in Landover, Md., just outside of Washington, D.C., at FedEx Field, home of the Washington Redskins. With the brightly colored burgundy and gold stadium seats as a backdrop, I presented some of the slides below for the agent portion of the workshop. To listen to a replay of the entire workshop, including my presentation, go to the Making Home Affordable website.

I had 15 minutes to present, so I wasn’t able to go through all of the slides below during the actual event, but wanted to provide all of them here so that agents and others could get a broad-based view of market trends and how that will impact the future of short sales and other distressed sales. As a bonus, the slides below also include information on flipping, institutional investors and boomerang buyers, all important trends in today’s market that I was not able to cover in the presentation.
