The RealtyTrac Q1 and March 2015 U.S. Foreclosure Market Report shows that while overall foreclosure activity nationwide was down in the first quarter to its lowest level since the first quarter of 2007 — an eight-year low — there was a late surge in foreclosure activity during the quarter. In March, U.S. foreclosure activity increased 20 percent from the previous month to 122,060 properties with foreclosure filings — up 4 percent from the previous month. The year-over-year increase in March was the first month with a year-over-year increase since September 2010.
