OHIO FORECLOSURES INCREASE 10 PERCENT IN MARCH

ACCORDING TO REALTYTRAC™ U.S. FORECLOSURE MARKET REPORT

Activity Up 74 Percent From a Year Ago; Foreclosure Rate and Total in Top 10

IRVINE, Calif. – April 23, 2007 – Ohio documented 8,222 foreclosure filings in March, an increase of 10 percent from the previous month, and a 74 percent increase from March 2006, according to the latest RealtyTrac™ U.S. Foreclosure Market Report.

RealtyTrac publishes the largest and most comprehensive national database of pre-foreclosure and foreclosure properties, with over 900,000 properties from nearly 2,500 counties across the country, and is the foreclosure data provider to MSN Real Estate, Yahoo! Real Estate and The Wall Street Journal’s Real Estate Journal.

Ohio consistently ranks in the top 10 states in both foreclosure rate and foreclosure totals,” said James J. Saccacio, chief executive officer of RealtyTrac.

Ohio ranked fifth in the country in total foreclosures reported in March. The state’s foreclosure rate of one foreclosure filing for every 582 households ranked eighth among the 50 states.

Bulk of state foreclosures found in five counties

The combined foreclosure filings in five counties accounted for 65 percent of all foreclosures in Ohio for March. Cuyahoga County documented the state’s highest foreclosure total for the month, reporting 2,034 foreclosure filings. Franklin County documented the second highest foreclosure total in the state, with 1,504 foreclosure filings. Lucas County had the state’s third highest foreclosure total, with 731 foreclosure filings. Montgomery County documented the state’s fourth highest foreclosure total, with 646 foreclosure filings. Hamilton County rounded out the state’s top five, reporting 450 foreclosure filings in March.

Lucas County leads state in foreclosure rate

Hardin County posted Ohio’s highest foreclosure rate in March, reporting one foreclosure filing for every 253 households — 2.3 times the state average and three times the national average. Lucas County registered the second highest foreclosure rate, reporting one foreclosure filing for every 268 households — nearly 2.2 times the state average and 2.9 times the national average. Cuyahoga County posted the third highest foreclosure rate, with one foreclosure filing for every 303 households — 1.9 times the state average and 2.6 times the national average. Franklin County posted the state’s fourth highest foreclosure rate, with one foreclosure filing for every 313 households — 1.9 times the state average and 2.5 times the national average.

State accounts for nearly 6 percent of national total

Total foreclosure filings in Ohio accounted for nearly 6 percent of the 149,150 foreclosure filings nationwide in March. The national total was up almost 7 percent from the previous month, and surged 47 percent from March 2006. The nation’s foreclosure rate increased to one foreclosure filing for every 775 U.S. households in the month.

The RealtyTrac Monthly U.S. Foreclosure Market Report provides the total number of homes in some stage of foreclosure nationwide, by state and by county. RealtyTrac’s report includes properties in all three phases of foreclosure: Defaults — Notice of Default (NOD) and Lis Pendens (LIS); Auctions — Notice of Trustee Sale and Notice of Foreclosure Sale (NTS and NFS); and Real Estate Owned, or REO properties (that have been foreclosed on and repurchased by a bank).
