Bachelor Padding: Degrees of Separation

Oprah Winfrey, no stranger to success, has been quoted as saying, “Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher.”

Those who take her words to heart and hope to surround their kids with uplifting people might want their next home to have one of the zip codes listed in the latest report from RealtyTrac. Based on a survey of communities whose residents have the highest percentage of college degrees.

According to RealtyTrac, there are seven U.S. zip codes with at least 2,500 residents in which every last one of them has earned a bachelor’s degree.

Of the top 50 zip codes cited, all have populations in which 83 percent have their bachelor’s degrees. The top ten, all with 92 percent or more are evenly divided over ten states, beginning with those seven 100-percenters in Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Indiana, North Carolina, and Ohio, followed by zip codes in Boulder, Colorado, Stanford, California, and New York City.
