Three Patterns of REO Activity in the 2014 Housing Market: Which One Matches Your Market?

Most U.S. housing markets in 2013 fit into one of these three patterns of activity when it comes to bank repossessions (REOs).

I had the privilege of presenting case studies of these three patterns at the 2014 National Association of Mortgage Field Services Annual Conference last week, while also gleaning helpful insight into some of the issues these professionals are facing in dealing with inspecting and maintaining distressed properties.

This presentation on the three patterns of REO activity was the second of two I gave at the conference. The first was titled Distressed Housing Market Outlook for 2014 and Beyond and looked at distressed housing trends mostly nationwide at a 50,000 foot level.
