Not realizing what is coming in advance, some of them hold exactly the wrong inventory and still have to attempt to attract buyers.

Some are using auction companies and others are offering incentives galore. The point is that they could have known the downturn was coming and had the right inventory to sell and the right "selling system" to implement immediately when the quadrant change took place.
