Award From Orange County Business Journal Based on
Entrepreneur’s Vision, Execution and Accomplishments
IRVINE, Calif. – March 19, 2009 – RealtyTrac® (http://www.realtytrac.com/), the leading online marketplace for foreclosure properties, today announced that Chief Executive Officer James J. Saccacio received a 2009 Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award presented by the Orange County Business Journal during the eighth annual awards ceremony at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Irvine on Wednesday.
Saccacio was selected from 99 nominees representing 81 companies around Orange County. In all, seven winners were picked by a judging panel that based its decision on the entrepreneur’s vision, execution, accomplishments and/or potential for success.
“I am very proud to have been selected from among such an elite group of Orange County’s finest business leaders for this award,” said Saccacio. “Being selected for such prestigious recognition is a testament to what we have accomplished as a company, both in terms of our exponential growth over the past few years and our reputation as the go-to source for foreclosure data. I share this honor with all RealtyTrac employees.”
A business turnaround specialist, Saccacio took over the reins at RealtyTrac in 2000 and quickly turned the struggling company into the leader in national foreclosure data and statistics. In 2008 RealtyTrac.com continued to be the nation’s most-visited foreclosure real estate website and consistently ranked among the Top 15 for all real estate websites. Additionally, the company grew its partnerships during the year, aligning itself with up-and-coming real estate website Trulia, HGTV’s FrontDoor.com, and several traditional real estate brokerages across the country, including Coldwell Banker Platinum Properties and First Team Real Estate.
Also in 2008 Saccacio spearheaded the company’s charitable efforts, playing an instrumental role in the creation of the RealtyTouch Charity Program in January 2008. A community outreach program, the program’s fundraisers benefitted four local charities that provided services related to real estate or housing: Village of Hope, Families Forward, Habitat for Humanity Orange County and Neighborhood Housing Services of Orange County.
