I had the chance to present to the prestigious Real Estate Investor Club of Los Angeles a couple weeks ago, and wanted to share the slides I presented here.
Led by the incomparable Phyllis Rockower, the LA REIC is one of the leading investor clubs in the nation, not surprising given it is in the midst of one of the hottest real estate markets in the world.
The title of the presentation was “Leverage the Latest Housing Trends to Land the Best Real Estate Deals” and I started by presenting the attendees with a ton of housing trend data at the national, state and hyper-local level down to the zip code. This helped to paint the picture of the real estate landscape when it comes to home sales, prices, foreclosures, flipping and buying to rent.
The last third of the presentation deals with how real estate investors, specifically in the Los Angeles region, can leverage some of these trends to gain an advantage in their market. The short summary here is a rising housing market lifts all boats, but also creates a much more competitive market for investors. Those willing to dive a little deeper into some data can often find opportunities not apparent to those just looking on the surface.
